<FONT size=2>How much horsepower can stock internals handle on the 4.6 Mustang? Just curious.</FONT>

I believe in the neighborhood of 400-425 HP. If you plan on using forced induction, it's a good idea to install forged internals anyway, because the rods and pistons in the 4.6 are very weak.

rods are failing in the upper 300 hps..bolts and the bolt area have been the culpruit

hey whats up!! i had a 98 gt with the pi head upgrade. on the dyno i was pushing 330 rwhp. and the bottom end only lasted 4000 miles. </P>

I"m on 3rd 2valve GT starting w/ a 1999 A 2000 and A 2002 the first was s/c with vortech s-trim 348 rear wheel hp,sold it with 86,000 miles and stil ran 12.40's! MY 2nd was s/c with a vortech sq-trim with and aftercooler 407 rearwheel hp sold it with 55,000 miles took it to the track the week before I sold it and still ran 11.95 at 116 mph on nitto drag radials ,thats just as fast has when a first did the s/c at 7,500 miles!! and my third car is a SEAN HYLAND GT-S2 CAR PAXTON NOVI 2000RR 386 rwhp w/ a steeda tech tranfer computer flash ** **CHECK THIS THE GTS2 CAR HAS THE FULL 3/36,0000 MILE FACTORY WARRANTY BECAUSE FORD GAVE COSWORTH AND STEEDA THE ECU DATA, THIS INCLUDES THE MOTOR AND DRIVETRAIN BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY!! SO IF FORD WILL WARRANTY THE CAR WITH THIER ECU FLASH ,WOULDN'T YOU THINK THE PEOPLE ARE HAVING ISSUES WITH THE PEOPLE TUNNING THIER CARS? BY THE THE WAY THE CAR RUN LOW 12.20'S AND STILL GETS 23MPG ON THE HIGHWAY W/ A 6 SPEED T56 TRANNY WITH 4.10 GEARS WHAT'S UP GUYS!!
