Which oil is better?

Hi, Just bought a Vortech 8psi and I wanna know which one is the best :

1-Castrol Syntech 5W-20
2-Lucas Synth 5W-20
3-Mobil 1 Syntch 5W-20

These are the only one at my local shop? For now im thinking to get Lucas oil...Is it a good a choice?

OH NO!!!!. Not another "which oil" thread, LOL. Any full synthetic would suffice.

im going to go with the mobil 1. really not for any reason, I've just used it all my life.

Since they're all excellent, go with the one that's the cheapest and most available in your area.

For me it's Mobile 1.

i run mobile 1 5w30 on my 00' vortech gt. 5 quarts is 26 buks at walmart+ 3 for the oilfilter= under 30 buks FTMFW!

royal purple with a wix filter :D

I just run castrol syntec and then a wix filter.

there will be no difference between them... its synthetic

Frostbitten 03-26-2009 11:19 AM

vortech recommends 5w-30. I use Mobil1 in everything

I'm running motorcraft part synethetic 5w-20, but next oil change I will be switching to full synthetic 5w-30

which oil people choose is normally decided by the marketing efforts of the oil companies... as far as wear tests go, the company i work for has recently tested several and found quaker state 5w30 synthetic to have the best wear protection. for a street driven car, you're not going to see a bit of difference between any of the major oil companies. change your oil and filter regularly, that's more important than what brand oil you use.

on another note, i've heard before that you're not supposed to use synthetic on a supercharged engine, although i can't imagine why not. any truth to this?
