First Problem....WEIRD

First Problem....WEIRD
Ok...I went to start my car during lunch today and it started fine and immediately turned off. Tried again, did the same thing. Started it once more and kept revving it and it stood on until I stopped giving it gas. Had a friend at work look at it and I started it and he pulled the throttle from the under the hood and it went back to normal, now it starts and idles and I drove it ten miles home no problem. Now he said he can hear something that sounds like a small vacuum leak. One of my other mechanic guys at work says it could be the fuel filter. Anyone have this problem?? I know it's weird but I thought I'd give it a shot....any advice would be great! Thanks!!

This has been posted before and me myself has had this problem too. All I can tell you is a quick fix, just raise the idle a little bit. Thats all I did so it would run, and then it suddenly stopped acting up a few days later.

first of all is your check engine light on?????? i think its probably your IAC valve. Before you go and spend $100 on one, try unplugging your MAF and then start the car up. If the the problem persists it is DEFINATELY your IAC.

well............... i'd go buy the IAC, and keep the receipt. then if it messes up within a month, you have a spare to change it out. and if it keeps working, then you can return it......... but since its messing up, i'd just replace it now.
