Default shorty headers

Do shorty headers give you a good performance or sound gain over stock? Or should I just not look into them and just leave it alone? Trying to stay legal[:@] NJ is tuff

have u looked into long tubes? but if u want shorties yea they will free up a few horses compared to the stock headers but long tubes will give u the most.

Anybody know about the sound difference? I am supposed to be putting mine on today *knock on wood,* I will give a detailed performance gain report later!

the sound will alwys change with headers. I would put on a good midpipe before I did headers though.

Does anyone have any experience w/ Shorty, Equal length headers??

I Know shorties aren't the preferred option, but if the Equal length shorties work just about as well as Long tubes, I'd go that route, since Massachusetts sometimes uses the mirror to look under your car for Cats.. That way I can just buy a good O/R X-Pipe and keep my stock X-pipe for inspections..

equal length shorties are the way to go if you are not willing to do longtubes. they produce more torque than unequal shorties.

I do believe you're right..

I wanted to go the N/A route, mostly because I want to attempt to build a 351C for my car, mostly because I have the infrastructure...

I figure it'll take me another year and a half to finish the engine/layout, so in the mean time, I want to make my car fun..

Nothing like transitioning from a 300hp+ 4-cyl to a 260hp V-8..
