I hate to do it, sorry!
I have a gear question. I have heard a lot of good and bad about motive gears. I was wondering if ford racing gears would be worth the extra $50 putting on? Is there any other manf. that you would recommend? I don't want the crap to break after a while. What else should I do at the same time as the gears. Should I do the whole rear end? What would that consist of? How much $$ we lookin at?
4.10's 4.30's or 3.73's???
O yeah might as well ask the same for shifters because that was going to be my next purchase. The only really manf of shifter I hear on this site all the time is Steeda? Would there be any other manf. you would go with? How hard is the install for the Shifter? How long would it take?
Thanks guys, sorry I had to post AGAIN about gears.[&:]

What he just said about gears
The Steeda Tri-Ax is a great shifter. I have an MRT which has "Tri-Ax" stamped on the handle so it is no doubt made by Steeda. It's worked great for me. The installation is easy, and if you ever wanted to change your tranny fluid that is the time to do so, because you can re-fill through the shifter hole. If you have the bucks everyone who has bought an MGW shifter and posted about it gives it rave reviews

i love my steeda tri-ax. when i first got it in there, it was shifting hard, now that it's broken in, it shifts like butter. i haven't heard anybody on these boards ever complain about motive gears. i got ford because the local performance shop only carries those and recommends them over all others. if you want to be sure, just get ford. like i said, nobody on here ever complained about motive though.

I was reading on Ford Racing website the other night. I think that they recently changed their manufacturing to make their gears even stronger or something. Not sure how much issue there ever was in ring/pinion strength though. It haven't heard that it would be the part to explode when running massive HP/TQ. Just nice to know that they are strong.
