Default Resetting Boost/Vac Gauge

My Autometer boost/vac gauge has my boost at 1lb when at idle. I have heard they can be reset but don't want to dive into it if i'm going to mess something up with the needle. Any input would be great.

is it mechanical or electric? It sounds like you're right where its supposed to be. Should go to 0 in. on WOT then start building boost.

The 19hg at idle is fine. So you are seeing 1lb of boost at PT when you think you should be at 0?

It's mechanical.

I just figured that when it is disconnected it should be at 0 regardless of atmospheric conditions.

oh sometimes you have to rotate the gauge to level the gauge into the 0 range.

If the gauge is a little off you can move the gauge slightly to balance it. Mine was a little off from 0 when installed and I turned it a little clockwise to get it in the 0 range.
