Supercharger vs N/A

on an otherwise stock 2v hp should be somewhat close with all of these but when the serious modding starts all bets are off. stick with the procharger imo.

The procharger IMO is garbage from the bracket to the piping to the blower itself. I have installed a few and everytime the get worse. The last one really sucked.
Go with a procharger and an ebay intercooler set up and you will be good to go.

I found a Vortech S trim for sale for about 2k on craigslist, its for a 99-01 Cobra but I would have to change the bracket and discharge pipe on to make it fit the GT. Does anyone know any one with these type of parts for sale.

not quite understanding your comment. you say the procharger is garbage then you say to get one.?

he meant certain parts are garbage. like maybe certain pipes in the kit have crappy bends or stuff like that. i think the procharger kits are great and make great power. absolutely nothing wrong with the vortech kits but i really like that prochargers have their own oil supply whereas the vortech/paxton's dont. i also like that the prochargers come inter/aftercooled.

In California you have to meet requirements that none of the rest of us have to meet. Any aftermarket part that you put on your car needs to be CARB approved for your year of Mustang. It makes no since but a supercharger can be approved for a 2000 GT and not approved for a 2004 GT. I guess it depends on when the company got the certification and if they recertified later. I have read posts that ProCharger is approved for your year. I do not know about the others. California has a web site of approved parts. A supercharger is not like an off-road pipe. You're not going to want to replace it for inspection.
Almost any introductory supercharger (P-1SC or T-trim) will produce more power than you motor can stand. Every tuner I've talked to says to limit the motor to 370-380 rwhp (manual transmissions) if your car is a daily driver. I read posts all the time of people blowing up motors at 420-430 rwhp. I have also read post where people go higher. It all depends upon the risk you want to take.
The ATI ProCharger P-1SC is a great supercharger. I have 35,000 miles on my daily driver with almost no problems. (I lost a lock nut on the bi-pass valve which caused it to partially close and make a lot of noise. Replaced the lock nut and everything is fine.) For $75 you can get an extended 3-year warranty. ATI customer support and tech support is excellent. Since I know almost nothing about superchargers it took me about three calls to find the lock nut problem.
I picked a centrifical supercharger specifically because my wife also drives my car. A centrifical supercharger builds boost with rpms. Since my wife rarely drives above 2500 rpms the car behaves like a stock Mustang for her. Since I do drive above 2500 rpms it behaves a little differently for me. If you pick a ProCharger she should have not problem driving the car.
