Default Mustang death?!

Ok, so it feels and sounds like something big is shot. I just finished running it up and down a few times to get my mustang's times with my ipod touch... anyways, the result is that right now my car is not going to be moving from the parking spot I left it in - at least not without a tow-truck in front of it.

The sound coming from under the hood is probably some of the loudest knocking I've ever heard, and is constant. The car feels like it wanted to turn off if I went faster than 10 mph. I'll have to check it out some more in the morning, but I don't really even know what to look for.. Bad times for me I suppose.

Can anyone provide any sort of insight here? I feel maybe the transmission may have overheated? I shudder at the thought of some huge *** repair like that though, especially now. Sucks.

describe when it started to knock. was it your 1st run of the night or what? did it start knocking right after a shift or at high rpm?

seems like engine trouble to me

It's not during a shift, just all the time, and i ran it a few times prior to all the knocking. And i had just put in gas before all this happened, and i made sure it was premium as usual.

does it knock at idle and during driving? If so it most likely is something with your motor. How many miles on the motor? Does it have oil?

Default Here's the vid

I changed the oil about two weeks ago, and it has 84xxx miles. It happens at idle and hell I don't want to know what it sounds like while giving it throttle. Here's the vid on youtube:

Dude it sounds like you spit a spark plug out. Remove the coils on the passenger side and I bet you see a plug come out with it..

If thats the case, you're in for a world of hurt man.. Sometimes you can get a shop to helicoil it, but its a 50/50 chance you might need a head.

Default Alright...

My friend came over just a bit ago and checked it out. The first thing he noticed was the rich smell coming from the car, and then the spark plug shaking by the passenger side (I recorded it on the youtube vid).

What we're gonna try tomorrow is changing that one spark plug in hopes that the spark plug wasn't igniting and was causing all the pinging/noise. It's a bit of a long shot but I have to start with cheap solutions first.

Any opinions or other suggestions?

look at the spark plug. did you blow the spart plug outta the head?? (are the threads fuxed up?)

if it was ratteling before you touched it, sounds like you blew it outta the block, and thats going to take more then just chaning out the spark plug to fix.

pray to god it just rattled loose.
