Default New Motor-new quewtions-help pls

Hey
So my 4.6L Windsor decided to go on me in my 1999 GT. So i decided to order a brand new one, it came in today and i noticed it is a romeo motor.

The romeo also came with the ECU, But the ECU is for an automatic "shifter was included" and mine is a 5 speed . Now i am wondering if i can use my stock ECU for this motor and if it is going to cause some issues? Can i rewire my old ahrness and how do i do it? and sense the ECU is automatic tunes does that mean something is up with the motor sense mine is 5 speed? sigh
Murphy's law!!!

thanks

P.S. I am waiting to put the motor in once i get a positive answer, so please help if you can... :/

u should be able to use ur stock wiring harness.U shouldnt have to rewire anything really just plug and play. Make sure u plug all the connectors to their right plugs.

see that is what i had figured, what does the motor have to do with the ecu/tranny? i mean does the motor to an auto have extra sensors or what not? i don't get it! I'm confused as all hell now. yea i got this thing from summit racing btw! so heads up on them!

Any and all advise would be helpful, I would rather not swap out the motors and realize i got to swap them back out to return something!

Dont sweat it dude. Everything will bolt up fine. Harness should swap right over as well... Reuse your PCM and engine harnes, and get the fugger swapped in there

WhiteFox is on the money... Plug and play! And you'll be able to sell the extra ECU and harness. I sold my extra engine harness for 180$

ok got the motor out of the car last night. the motor has a skinny thin crappy flywheel on it and the new fly wheel i bought it alot heavier and thicker. thing is the bolts that came with the motor are not long enough ..do i reuse the ones from the old motor? or do i get new ones?

also about the engine harness.. The new motor came nearly 100% complete and assembled with all the engine harness's installed i just want to know if the wiring harness on the body is compatible with the engine wiring harness on the new motor. and will i need to reflash my old pcm at all?

Your ECU will be just fine. It's the same engine and the KAM will adjust any some variances from the engine being tighter. It should run like a brand new car. I'd buy new bolts for sure. Have you thought about buying an Aluminum Flywheel?

Didn't you say that they shipped you an Auto? Are you talking about the Flexplate that came with the new engine is thin and crappy or that your old engines "flywheel" is thin and crappy?

They shipped me an engine with an automatic PCM and automatic shifter.
The flywheel that came on the new engine is thin, crappy, lightweight and can prob bend it by hand.
The new fly wheel is thick solid and definitely made to be beat on as well as the old flywheel on the old motor.
old one is an 8 bolt the new one is the 6 bolt more up to date.
Will any clutch for the 99-04 GT fit this "obviously a 6 bolt now".

That's not a flywheel it's a flexplate and it's for Automatics only. 8 bolt or 6 bolt they are both "Up to date".

Do you have an 8 bolt or a 6 bolt crank? If your new Flywheel is different than your crank, then you wont be able to use it anyway.

You should post pictures to verify but if it's as thin as you say and they shipped you all the other Comp stuff for an Auto, then it stands to reason, they sent you a flexplate as well.
