Default Cobra running hot!!! What is going on?!

Hey guys, just took the car out for a little drive tonight and i looked down and the hot cold gauge was all the way on the red line. I do have fluid in the radiator, just checked that. Im kinda confused because its about 35 degrees here at night right now and the car is still as far to the H as it can go with the cooling fan on. Does anyone know why this would be!? Also, the heat isnt working now. The heat is on full blast and only cold air comes out.

Water pump took a ****. To test open the radiator cap (when cool) and fill it to the top. Start the car and let it idle. If the water level drops at op temp the the pump is good. If the water start pouring out the pump is bad.

+1

When my pump took a dump I could reach down and grab the pulley with everything still attached and feel the pulley move back and forth.

Waterpump is a 30 minute job or so.

if your thermostat is stuck shut it is a 15 minute fix.

Being a 2001, I might say waterpump if never replaced. How many miles on the motor?

If your coolant refill bottle staying full?

A few pieces of info from my experience.

#1: Water can trickle out of the pump for a while and acutally run all the way to the back of the oil pan where the trans connects. Makes for a slighly hard diagnosis at first. My was evaporating for a while
#2: If the thermostat is stuck closed, would cause similiar problems.
#3: Make sure your car is mid cool-cool before starting to test to not risk overheating. When car goes past 200-210 turn it off.
#4: I know in my 98 (not sure in PIs), the standard temp gauge is only a switch and not actually a accurate reading. It reads cold, Warm, Hot, Not actual temps. I installed autometer temp gauge and readings are different. Autometer is accurate.
#5: I'm sure this goes without saying but ovoid overheating while testing.
#6: Nothing major, dont be scuuured.

Installed new TSTAT and the heat still doesnt work and the car is still over-hearting. Any other ideas? Water pump is fine.
