Default Exhaust help

I'm having some trouble with a midpipe install on my 02 gt. It's a mac high flow h pipe and i bought it used. Basically no matter what i do, i can't stop a leak were the manifold meets the midpipe on the drivers side. I'm beginning to think this is why the guy sold it because it leaks lol. Is there some sort of exhaust sealer that would be strong enough to use or what do you guys think i should do?

yea it took mine about 5x times to get it right. how are you tightening the bolts? isnt there supposed to be a gasket on one side? i could be wrong but i thought there was

what eventuall worked for me was doing a turn on each bolt and then going to the opposite bolt and vice versa. you have to do that until there tight.

yeah on the passenger side there is a gasket, but that side is fine. The drivers side is the problem. There was also a problem with my studs and nuts. For whatever reason they came off easily but after 3 adjustments or so the nut basically welded itself in place(PUT ON WITH AN EFFING RATCHET!), I only had the car running for a minute or so. I managed to remove the entire stud from the manifold and tried using 10mmx1.5 bolts but for whatever reason that didn't work.
I searched another mustang forum and apparently this is common with aftermarket mid pipes?
I bought new napa stud kit today, part # 600-1819. I'm gonna see if i can get it in place with these, another forum recommended these studs and also mentioning that the oem studs don't work well with aftermarket midpipes. Guess I'll find out later.
But if i can't get the pipe in position where it wont leak, will a muffler weld type compound work for me?
Thanks guys

The passenger side has a gasket. The drivers side is a gasketless ball and socket connection. These connections can be a little tricky to keep from leaking but as DVS Z28 said if you alternate between the two nuts until tight it will typically seal up. I have seen some mid-pipes that have jacked up flanges on the socket connection right out of the box. You may have been so lucky and it may require you to take it to an exhaust shop for repair in order to get it to seal properly. Good luck!
