4.6 Cobra vs 4.6 GT
Hey guys,
I am currently a Camaro owner looking to buy a Mustang for my daily driver. I love the 99-04 style 4.6's.
I have been looking a lot at GT's, around me dealerships have them between $7000 and $10,000 depending on year and mileage.
I just started looking at Cobras, in particular there is a red 2001 Cobra near me for $13k.
I am curious of what the difference is as far as daily driving a Cobra vs a GT? The Cobra makes great power, I really like the 01 and 02 NA Cobras for their price and horsepower ratings... Also, what should I be looking to spend for a GT in those years with about 50-60k vs a Cobra?
Thanks guys!

Thats a good deal on the cobra, although you might be able to get him down a few.
Daily driver wise nothing really, the IRS in the cobra will make for a better ride. and the seats are better too so other than power its also more comfy.
Gt's should be around 7-9k i wouldnt spend over 9500 on a 99-04 GT ( also called new edge)
and i wouldnt spend much over 15,000 for a 99 or 01 cobra
If someone is selling an 00 or 02 cobra its a fake. Unless the 00 is the cobra R im sure you would know that lol. and the only 02's that were made went to australia.

oh have you considered a Mach 1? same power plant as the cobra's ( diff heads and cams and intake and rear end ratio i tihnk) if you plan on drag racing the 8.8 in the mach might suit you better. and that shaker hood is sick

if you can afford the cobra, go for that, pretty much everything about it is better than the GT.
and as for drag racing on the IRS..

There is a pretty good breakdown of the differences between the N/A cobras and the GT's. I put the link below.

You should look into it, lots of good info.
