the 01-04gt hood is only a 99-00 hood but with the scoop. no point in putting in the honeycomb just to be blocked by the scoop. waste of a part, and money..

i'm confused.

you're saying the 01-04 hood is like that?

I know that on the 99-00 hood, there is still metal under the honeycomb insert, it's not exposed like this..

looks to me like someone took a v6 hood pulled the original honeycomb out for a ram air type design then later added the gt hood scoop and didnt decide to put the old honeycomb back in.

hm, the V6 & GT hood are identical except for the scoop, if i'm not mistaken.

yep..but they are more commonly found on the v6 rather than the v8

I have had my hood cut open with the honeycomb on the scoop drilled out for over 4 years. I have buried the speedometer and the scoop never flinched. The only time I got water on the engine was after a wash when I open the hood. It keeps the intake very cool at highway speeds.

The gt hood is the exact same hood as the older and v6 hoods minus the honeybomb on it.
