Default mil eliminator help

recently I had a mac or h-pipe installed and plug-in mil eliminators from american muscle. Within 15 minutes of driving the check engine light came back on. I than took off the negative battery, and removed then re-installed the mils and it came back on. Now I returned the mils and have none on my car. If 1 pair didnt work, is it worth it to try a new pair, like steeda mils? and also I curently do not have the funds for a tuner

Did you have the codes read to make sure it is the MIL eliminators not working properly? I know when I put my O/R pipe on I had a CEL for an oxygen sensor slow response. Check the codes first before buying a new set just to be sure.

One or both are bad then. MIL eliminators can be hit or miss. Most of the time they work, but sometimes they dont. Mine have been on my car for over a year and I've had no problem with my CEL. I say try a new pair, but you can also make your own for much cheaper. If you do a search you'll find a write up on how to make em. I was too lazy to make my own so I got mine of American Muscle as well.

You can make your own for $5 or so, mount them well away (10" or more) from the exhaust system and you will not have any heat related problems...

A guy at work swears it works but I am kind of skeptical.
He says there are spacers that lift the factory 02 sensors higher out of the main stream of flow to fudge readings.
Said that they were the same as spark plug anti foulers you can get in most auto stores (the little shrouded spacer between plug and head.) and that they should work.
Sounds like voodoo to me. Anyone else hear of this?

^^^ actually i have heard of that too, some guy on ebay actually sells them for 10 bucks or somethign like that..he claims that they thread in but raise the 02 sensor up, giving it less of a reading making it think it has cats..like the flow is like a catted pipe...idk the exact description...i am unsure myself but for 10 bucks...what do you have to lose?
