Default 0-60

Just did a manaual 0-60 with my stop watch and looking at the speedometer and I came up with 6.5-7.0 sec each time. I know its not the best method at all, but was wondering if you guys have done it and what you came up with. I know there is a lot of error using this method from starting and stopping the watch plus your probably actually at 60 before the speedo tells you are. Just thought I'd throw out the question. Plus what are the actual 0-60 times on 99+ cars and how do they come up with the times in the mags.

at the site I get 0-60 and 1/4 estimates from it says the 99-04 mustang gt should be doin 0-60 in 5.5 seconds and the 1/4 in 14.10.

Your going to be way off that way. Invest in a G-tech. The new ones are nice, but I bought the old style a couple years ago for $59.99 new in the box, delivered to my door off of Ebay. Great investment because I know whether a mod is really helping or hurting, and can switch things around until I have a good set up. I noticed that some things gave a noticeable seat of the pants increase but actually were hurting my times. Fun to bring along when test driving cars too!

my friend gave me his old g-tech thing. i tried to measure my 0-60 with that and it came back as 25 seconds. those things are complete junk! i brought the car up to 65 and it thought i never even reached 60.

Agreed, they are not accurate at all, I've 3 or 4 different ones and the times are all over the place.

Get a timeslip from the track, theirs an accurate formula for figuring 0-60 once you've got that.

The 0-60s are usually done at the track and with near perfect launches. If you don't get the launch right you'll never hit the numbers. 6.0-6.5 seconds is still pretty good for being on the street and using a stop watch.

Sounds like USER ERROR. If you know how to correctly use the G-tech it is very accurate and consistant. Dont tell people they dont work just cause your a moron. The times have been accurate on my friends 96 vette, 69 Hurst Olds, 71 Trans Am 455H.O., 2003 S10, 95 Z28 auto, 94 Z28 6-spd, 2001 Sebring convertible, 97 GT Vert, 02 vette convertible auto, etc...... It amazes me how its always a products fault or someone elses, but never the user.....because I am a racer, or engineer, or cool guy.......please!!
