Top End with 3.73 Gears?
I was wondering on a 2001 Mustang GT 5 speed. If I were to install 3.73 gears. Would this actually help my top end? Or hurt it? I know it will deff. help my launch, but im not sure on the top end. When I say top end, I mean like roll races, like around 55 mph. THanks

Click here, 192 MPH @ 6k RPM if you had the horsepower (420 or so)...
Our cars run out of HP long before they run out of RPMs...
I really don't know why people worry about this as much as they do--my experience has been that 85% of drivers run out of ***** at 125 MPH or so, of the remaining 15% 10% bow out at 140, and the remaining 5% have got what it takes to see what's left...
My s/c'd '92 Miata topped out at 128.3 MPH just before the rev limiter, only once (oddly a V-10 diesel pickup--those sucka's can haul) in 5 years was I seriously challenged--as I said above most drivers run out before the vehicle does.
Fastest I've had my '03 GT going was 145.9 per my Garmin GPS, it had a bit more left but it would have been pedal to the metal for another minute or so. Believe me, there are not that many out there that have actually hit those sorts of speeds--most are lying...
