Default Wtf!? Fuel Filter perhaps!!!

OK, so my brother bought a 2000 GT, and everything works fine most of the time, the thing is that it starts to lose power out of nowhere, when it happens the throttle pedal stops responding, and the more you step on it the more it starts to die, until it eventually dies, the power loss is gradual but its is noticeable. The weird thing is, you turn the key and it starts normally again and works fine.

I imagine it could be the fuel filter, i havent changed it yet, what else could it be!?!?

This happened on my Infiniti back when I had it, the fuel pump was bad. Eventually the car just wouldn't start for a minute or so after it died. It did this very rarely, but it was incredibly annoying when it occured.

Try the filter first as it will be a lot cheaper and easier to replace. A clogged filter can and will cause erratic running.
And if that doesn't work, see if you can get a fuel pressure reading, no point in replacing the pump if its not bad.
