Default Water leak?

Pics say it all....when I got to work this morning and stepped out I heard this easily noticable "steaming" sound so I looked under the car. Heres what I noticed....the passenger side heat shield had water leaking down on it and it was making a small amount of smoke. Overall I would say it was a fluid cup or less of water total but it was hard to say because it would evaporate fast due to the heat. I also realized at this time that I had been hearing this quite often in the morning but it was never loud like this. It was always a feint noise that I never really payed much attention to. My engine has never thrown a code since i've owned it. Pics were taken 20 minutes after I stopped the engine. The last two pictures were facing the camera directly upward hoping to get a better view from the ground, they didn't accomplish much.

Check your hoses on and around the heater core, make sure it isn't skeeting.

I can not quite tell where the source would be on pass side... But if you trace the manifold back it leads to the head. (possible head gasket or intake gasket or cracked intake)

Also... You are not running the A/C when this happens, correct? This is antifreeze, and not water?

No code will be thrown unless you overheat it.

Have you had to fill the raditor at all yet?

Update.....oh wait Brute03 already solved it for us....LOL. Hes 100% to the tee exactly right.....I ran out there and looked harder and what do you know its a valve and its DIRECTLY over the exhaust pipe(GJ Ford). By the way that baby was steaming this morning I thought for sure something must be wrong. It was literally so hot the water was just exploding off of the pipe like hot oil in a pan. That and the smoke scared the **** out of me.

Lol... That's why I asked if he was running the A/C and if it was water or antifreeze

Always assume the easiest answer.

Haha Heyyyyyy no laughing, had you heard and seen that **** and not known that the valve was there youda come runnin' to the forums too Next time I get that bad boy cooking again i'll take video.

The reason I took it more seriously is A) I have water, not coolant in my radiator in warmer months(pretty much 10 out of 12 here in NC). And I also did 7 or 8 WOT pulls yesterday evening trying to get my data logging to work. No luck there i'm gonna call SCT tomorrow.

Lol I was already shopping for new headers thought the gasket was a goner figured id upgrade the headers while I replaced the gasket. Good thing I dont have to take that chunk out of the S/C fund.
