MUSTANG TUNER QUESTIONS FOR KENNE BELL
I have a 2000 gt with kenne bell charger non ic running at 6psi. Want to go with 9 or 11 psi and kenne bell will send me upgrade kit which has eec chip reburned and ic upgrade. I am really unsure if I can go to 11 psi safely without blowing motor. Anyone running 11 psi safely. Also was curious how difficult it will be to do the upgrade myself or should I bring car to somebody. I have basic mechanical ability but have never installed a supercharger. I bought car with it on. And can anybody recommend someone in new jersey or new york that is not on the take that will do the job. Any input is greatly appreciated

hmmm kenne bell offers an upgrade to go from a non-intercooled to a intercooled setup??? whats the price on that???
afaik, 11 PSI is max. if i were you i would stick with 9psi. but then again, everythings in the tune, as well as some other factors. if KB sends u the chip, then it should be garunteed? might wanna check that out, as well as tell them that you have a stock block?...

considering the 6psi kit is 3899.. intercooler for 1100... that means its on par with thier 9psi intercooled kit, which is 4999... that interests me cuz now i can get the 6psi kit and not worry about having to dump the whole thing later for a 9psi kit...

not in jersey unfortunately. im in middle/south jersey, north jersey might be diff. best thing is to find a mustang club or find a bunch of friends with stangs and see if they know of anyone that does good work and could hook you up.
if you do get the upgraded kit, you might want to consider some other upgrades. the kit says it comes with 36lb injectors, personally i would get some 42lb'ers. also, definately keep the boost down to 9psi. i looked on thier site and thier 9psi kit was pushin like 420 to the wheels. depending on the condition your car is in, you might want to have it detuned to keep it from blowing itself up. your car is 9 almost 10 years old now keep in mind.
if you havent already, make sure EVERYTHING is straight. plugs, wires, filters (air and fuel) all that good stuff. i kno i might be goin overboard here with the cautions, but i dont know what your technical level is so i dont want you to throw 11 psi and toss a rod and end up another statistic.
