Default Modified Power At the Crank?

Is there any way to find out how much horsepower you are making, not at the wheels after doing modifications?

I know that if i had my car dynod i could use the equation to add the 'lost' power to the figure at the wheel and that would give me a close guess,,,

i hate when people ask me how much power im making, and i tell them oh, about 230--235 at the wheels cause half of them dont know what that means...

i want to be able to tell them somthing like 280-290 and leave it at that..(because our 99-04's were rerated at 270 to begin with

any ideas on how to come up with an accurate guess?)

Do what everyone else does and guess (lie). If they don't understand the differnece between RWHP and flywheel HP, then chances are they will believe whatever they tell you.

04's still only have 260 to the crank, and 230 to the wheels. You could buy a supercharger and tell them your making over 300 rwhp . Are you talking about if somone has mods? If somone has an 04 Gt with a catback just add like 5-8 hp to the wheels.

I know i could just lie, thanks for pointing that one out to me.. but i was just wondering what kind of numbers i was producing total, but not ao the wheels

And i could have sworn someone on here said that 99-04's were recently rerated at 270 instead of the normal 260,, maybe not, i dont know

But does anyone know what kind of power an o/r H and a catback would add total, not just at the wheels? or should i just assume 10-12 instead of 6-8 for the midpipe, and 7-8 instead of 3-4 for the catback?

so waht? add 11 and 8 to 270 and say 'about' 290?

I would just stick to saying you have 260 stock. And i would guess that you have about 275hp.

I guess my point was that it really doesn't matter. You're looking for a chart of all bolt on's and what each adds in HP. Then you can go down the list, see what you have and add it up. Maybe someone can make one up for you, but your best best is to dyno the car and add back for the parasitic loss. Hard to get more accurate than that.

Maybe if you had read my first post, i just said if there were any other way than to add the percentages lost to it.

A simple, no, thats about it might have done the trick.

thats the only real way. you cant really trust compaies. sure i can get 25rwhp out of a catcak too if the car i was testing on was heavily modified

Sorry man - didn't mean to offend. I was just trying to come up with something to help you out. I'm not sure what kind of answer your were looking for. Obviously, not mine.
