Modified Power At the Crank?
Is there any way to find out how much horsepower you are making, not at the wheels after doing modifications?
I know that if i had my car dynod i could use the equation to add the 'lost' power to the figure at the wheel and that would give me a close guess,,,
i hate when people ask me how much power im making, and i tell them oh, about 230--235 at the wheels cause half of them dont know what that means...
i want to be able to tell them somthing like 280-290 and leave it at that..(because our 99-04's were rerated at 270 to begin with
any ideas on how to come up with an accurate guess?)

Do what everyone else does and guess (lie). If they don't understand the differnece between RWHP and flywheel HP, then chances are they will believe whatever they tell you.

04's still only have 260 to the crank, and 230 to the wheels. You could buy a supercharger and tell them your making over 300 rwhp . Are you talking about if somone has mods? If somone has an 04 Gt with a catback just add like 5-8 hp to the wheels.

RE: Modified Power At the Crank?
I know i could just lie, thanks for pointing that one out to me.. but i was just wondering what kind of numbers i was producing total, but not ao the wheels
And i could have sworn someone on here said that 99-04's were recently rerated at 270 instead of the normal 260,, maybe not, i dont know
But does anyone know what kind of power an o/r H and a catback would add total, not just at the wheels? or should i just assume 10-12 instead of 6-8 for the midpipe, and 7-8 instead of 3-4 for the catback?
so waht? add 11 and 8 to 270 and say 'about' 290?

You're looking for a chart of all bolt on's and what each adds in HP. Then you can go down the list, see what you have and add it up. Maybe someone can make one up for you, but your best best is to dyno the car and add back for the parasitic loss. Hard to get more accurate than that.
A simple, no, thats about it might have done the trick.

Maybe if you had read my first post, i just said if there were any other way than to add the percentages lost to it.
