Default Something wrong? or just my luck?

Okay I am starting to believe that I have a different problem than just getting ****ty radiators. I went through 2 mishimoto radiators in about a month. They leaked like crazy under pressure. The guys was cool about it and refunded the money instead of sending out a third one. Took that money and got a fluidyne radiator. I thought that solved my problem, a couple days ago i see that one is starting to slowly leak. The fluidyne lasted a whopping 3 months though. Is there anything that could be causing me to go through radiators like this? or am i just unlucky and getting defective ones? It is leaking where the cores meet the side cans. every single core is leaking on the passenger side.

I think you need to get a pressure tester and see what kind of pressure you're seeing.

If you can establish that you're seeing higher than normal pressure, that'll confirm it's not the radiator, but the system.

You haven't had the heads off the car, have you? How about overheating; has the car been running hot?

car never runs over 190*, usually around 185*. Ever since I've had my heads off (back in november i believe) i've had this problem. went through the first two very quickly but when i got the fluidyne it lasted longer before it started leaking.

If this started after a head came off, I'm thinking you put a gasket on wrong and it's blocking a coolant passage. Since the water can't circulate through the engine, it's building pressure until something lets go.

Sounds like that's why the radiator's are leaking. That weld is going to be easier to push past than pretty much anything else.

This is a guess, though, so see what you can do to check it out before you yank a head.

Head gasket aside, is it possible that the heads you put on don't have the correct coolant passages even if the head gaskets are correct?
What did the heads come off from?
What about a manifold coolant passage blockage caused by a wrong gasket?

i would do a cylinder leakdown test if the problems started after you had the head off.

That's a good point.

Did you pull and replace the stock heads, or did you pull the stockers and put something else on?

heads are ported 01's. Nothing is blocked and i know that for a fact because I was sure to take my time with everything. leakdown test didn't reveal anything wrong.

I wonder if you could have some kind of blockage from the radiator to the overflow tank?
