Default Just Dies...

Ok this has happened twice now, I have a 99 GT, and while going 30-50mph, the car just dies. No sputter, no major shaking, nothing. It just dies, like the ignition was shut off. The radio, A/C & everyother electric item doesn't even flinch it seems like. LIke I said its only happened twice, and about a week and a half apart. Once at night, once during the day? I don't know what it could be, maybe fuel blockage or something? Any ideas? Oh, It starts right back up with out a problem, and runs great..?!?!

probably your fuel filter or fuel pump. I would say its most likely the pump, but it wouldnt hurt to start with the filter(i always fix the cheaper option first).

Yeah, seems like it is the fuel, but would it shut the car down completly if it was the pump, then restart with out a problem?

Mine did that a couple times. It did it like twice in a week and then it didnt do it again till about 6-8 months later. In fact, my Cobra has done it once in the two months Ive owned it. I think it may be a glich in the computer that hits from time to time because I keep all my inspections up to date and ALWAYS on time.

it defiantly could. Fuel pumps tend to work erratically then fail, rather than failing all at once

Ok today on the way to work, it died twice. So, apparently something is wrong, i don't think that, by any means, is normal... So if it is the fuel pump, how would I know for sure? I don't think there is away.. just do to the fact that it happens speratically... Anyother suggestions about what it could be or how I could test the fuel pump before buying a new one.
