Default Brakes, brakes, brakes

Is it worth it to replace calipers as well or is that not a major issue? I don't do any road racing and rarely ever use hard braking. I was looking at just getting rotors and pads.

I'm having trouble finding a decent kit, has anyone heard good things about the summit brand brake kit? http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

well i've decided against the kit I posted but I'm wondering if I can fit 13 inch rotors with my wheels? The rotor I was looking at said it was for cobras but is there something different that would not allow me to run those rotors on a GT?

You should have no problems with 13" rotors as long as you have at least 17" wheels.

that is what i thought too. Would I benefit with a 13 inch rotor compared to the stock size? worth the extra $30 a rotor?

13" rotors will not work with stock calipers.

13" rotors and calipers require a 17" wheel.

just trying to get this clear. so 96-99 cobras have bigger calipers than say my gt would stock? This says it will work with stock calipers but the model is a cobra model.

Here's what I would recommend http://www.buyfordracing.com/shop/pr..._id=673cPath=6

Or I suppose this... but for the difference in money I would just get the 03-04 setup

i was actually kind of wanting to stay away from new calipers because I don't know how to mess with brake fluid and bleeding the lines and all that bs. I would have to take the car to someone if I wanted new calipers.

From what I know Sn95's have single piston front calipers (except the cobras of course) which are the worst....

Just find some new edge GT take-off's or buy a cobra front kit.
