i was wondering if anyone ever took out the silver cap that covers the bulb. if so how did you do it. what are the advantages and de advantages

wtf? why would you want to do that? Its there for a reason silly! Just leave it!

i want to do it cause somehow i bent mine and now my headlights are out of wack horizontally.

oh i see, why not just look for a replacement lens? Price obviously, but really, i have not looked at the mustangs lens closely at all-if it is like any other i have seen i can tell you this-it is need for display of light. The back of the lens is ellyptical, the light from the sheild over the front of the bulb helps to reflect light back into the lens which then forms the beam outward in front of the vehicle. I remember reading an article about this, i am going to look for it for you.

Or if you really want to remove your headlight cover, let a pro do it for you. I haven't tried doing it myself. It might cause a greater damage.
