Default PI Swap question

I have a 96' gt that i am going to do a PI swap on. I have the cams, heads, and intake manifold but I was told i will need some other minor parts like heater hose etc... does anybody have a complete list of extra parts i will need to successfully complete the PI swap?

Did you get windsor or romeo heads? If you got windsor heads you will need valve covers. Other than that you will need:
1.Possible valve covers
2.5/8 heater hose around 4 foot.
3.Dipstick from 99-04 car
4.Gaskets of course!
5.New timing chains if your old chains are wore out.(Totally up to you on that one)
6.New head bolts. They recommend not to re use head bolts on mod engine.
7.If you plan on headers this is the time to do it.

If you got Windsor heads you're also going to need a couple new timing cover bolts. They're 8mm on Romeo heads and 10mm on Windsor heads. Also, you may want to get a flexible oil dipstick tube. It's more money, but it's really worth the hassle. I didn't use a flexible one and I ended up not putting it in because it was such a pain in the a$$. also, if you're using a PI intake manifold crossover you're going to have to modify it for the second coolant temp sensor. As posted above, replacing your timing chains is a good idea; as is the tensioners and guides that go along with it. Good luck...

By the way, I did the swap on my old car and I tell the same thing to everyone who's about to do the swap: Just swap in a complete PI engine, it's a lot easier. Unless you're going to rebuild/refresh your shortblock, I say get a whole engine.

+1 on the complete engine swap in. The compression is nice but your only going to gain a little off it.
