Default Trick flow stage 1 cams

Has anyone tried these? They're $450 through Summitt, and $600 with springs.

They also used the stage 1's with their new modular Trick flow heads, and acheived great numbers.

Wouldn't it have been better to use their stage 2's with the heads? Or are these just that good?

I could be wrong, but I believe TFS designed these cams to work with their 2V heads because of the additional lift that's available due to the different valve locations.

Actually Summitt has them for $450 with free shipping, and $600 with springs.

The guy i talked to at TF said they do work well with their heads (obviously) but said they are great on their own as well.

I'm no expert on cam specs, but they appear to be a fairly aggresive stage 1 cam.

Are you talking about TF's stage 1 & 2? I was under the impression that a stage 2 from a company like Comp or CMS would be great on a n/a car...even with stock heads!

yea..in the summit catalog it says the stage 1s work on n/a cars while the stage 2s bump the torque curve for the f/i cars.

Have any of you seen the specs on these cams?

How do you think it might compare to Comp's or CMS's stage 1?

If i don't do the TF cams, i will either do Comp or CMS

They are 228/230 with .550"/.550" lift. I'm not sure what LSA they use. They are larger than my Stage 1 but smaller than my Stage 2. Im sure they wanted to see the results on a more typical "daily driver" set-up....hence the use of Stage 1's. They wanted to dyno test the heads with some of my grinds because of the tighter LSA..but I can't afford to send them cams for free.
