Exclamation Do i really need this!

How's everyone doing!

Do you really have to use a fuel line disconnect tool when changing your fuel filter ? , i have the filter already i just dont want to run to the auto store to buy the tool. (too far)
I really wanted to get it done today.
but if you HAVE to have it then thats fine.

Thank you,

You can use a flathead screwdriver to push back the tabs on the fuel line, but it's rediculously frustrating and you risk damaging the line.

Just buy the tool. Don't make a simple job into a nightmare.

I have also heard about doing it with flatheads, but it is always followed by "if you're good". Don't do it, the tool is under $10.

I got it off without the tool but never again will i do it. I ended up getting it off with some force and got gas all in my eyes. Not a good day at the emergency room. Get the tool, please.
