lets assume he's an average driver and ran 14.0 stock..not Fing 13.7 lol

i agree

A. Nitrous and nothing else
B. 4.10 or 4.30 gears. Fox springs up front and C springs out back with 90/10's and 50/50's a few bolt ons and a tubular K member or something for weight reduction

I'm looking for 12's with pretty much the same thing, only tomorrow I'm getting a pair of 15x4s for the front and 15x8s for the back

Dime might of just had some really good air or he is that good of a driver which is awesome. But if auto, go 3200 stall converter. Big help.

An older guy me and dime know (who build mustangs and can drive pretty well) has a 00 GT 5spd that he bought wrecked....155k miles... Fixed it and ran it down the track, stock everything and got a 14.0@100 with a 2.2 60'. He only did one pass, if he got a 2.0 thats high 13s right there. You guys think runnin 13s in a stock car is like being a god at driving... Its just practice and not being afraid to let the car hang out

try to practice driving a little bit, and dont feel bad for your car. its like a girl, if you smack her in the face she obviously wont like it. now in the right location and situation that smack can be a good thing that will make her "go" faster.

It's not just that simple though. Air and his car has a lot to do with it.

I'm not taking away from him at all, it's a hell of a time with no mods, and he's still turning great times considering his very low power levels.

It's just that you guys *him and you* make it sound like everyone and their grandma ought to be going 13.9's bone stock over and over again, and bottom 13's with nothing more than gears and a launch.

It's not that easy.

Low low 13'/12's are probably going to require full bolt ons, dr's, and some gears for this guy. Assuming he's a normal guy just going to the drag strip for fun.

Hell, even my 13.6 has a LONG way to go before I can claim to touch 12's, and that was on a 1.8 60'.. not a LOT of ground I can make up there.

Aren't there like 58 threads on this? O yeah there are lol. But anyway just to echo some others. Gears, Tires, and a little suspension will have you well on your way.
