Question Clutch

I am going to be needing a new clutch soon and I was hoping someone had some better knowledge on what brand and type I should look into because I don't have much of an idea about it. The car is mainly used on the street but will be taken to the track every now and then. I don't need anything outrageous because the car is only lightly modified but I do plan to supercharger it sometime in the future so I would prefer to get one that could stand some power. Also what brand is most liked by people? I know that there are many different companies that make the clutch kits but I have no idea which one is the best. Lastly does anyone have any lightweight flywheel suggestions?

Thanks
Landon

With your current mods I would look into a king cobra or a spec stage 1 or similar clutch. How realistic are the supercharger ideas? Because you're probably going to want a little more clutch at that time, but personally I would worry about that when it happens.... unless it's 4 months away.

I'm in the process of breaking in a spec stg. 1 right now that's paired up with an aluminum flywheel. I plan on throwing in a blower in the future as well, but I was talked out of getting anything much higher than a stg. 1. The stock trans. isn't rated for a whole lot of power. It's cheaper to buy a clutch than a trans, so I was told to build so that the clutch is the weaker of the two. Besides, Ox is running over 650hp and he says his stg. 1 is doing just fine.

I figured the stage 1 would probably be the best choice but do you like the spec clutch cause I have heard bad stories about them.

Well I've only put about 325 mi. on it, I'm still in the break in process. But it seems to be a pretty popular clutch on the forums though. Just make sure you take the time to break it in. Spec recommends 500 miles, I'll probably start gradually rolling into it at that point until I get a good 600 or 700 on it just to be safe.
