I just bought another 98 that the ac is not working, I went ahead and replaced the heater core cause it was bypassed, so i had to drain the system but before i did I checked to see if it was working and it is not! I have everything hooked up and wanted to test everything before i charge, I jumped the high pressure switch out and I'm not getting power to compressor any ideas on what to check next?????????

having a bit of a time following, you got a new heater core, but now your compressor isn't working or isn't getting power? The big difference is this, the compressors are built with a fail safe in them, if there isn't freon in the system, they wont turn on. This is to prevent them from burning up should you have an undetected ac leak and the freon runs out. If that is your issue, then go ahead, charge the system and see if it doesn't cut on.

No it did not work before i changed the heater core, The system was full? I drained the freon when replacing heater core! I just wanted a way to test it out before i waisted my time and freon!
