Default Just talked to mustang tunning..

Well.. it seems that MT is saying that 4.10's are so much better for auto mustangs rather then 3.73's . . I was going to go with the 3.73's because my gf's dad was telling me they would be just fine for my car.. which would be better for my auto.. [&:]

Gas will get worse on the highway. The reason taller gears are recommended for auto's is because 1st gear isn't as aggressive as they are on manuals... so you need more help getting off the line. Unfortunately though you don't have as low of an overdrive as a manual so you will rev higher on the highway.

PS - 3.73's are for people who don't know any better. 4.10's should be a minimum if your serious about performance.

look at the site in my sig... then finish it off with joe's post. he did a great write-up on gears that anybody interested in a gear change and is confused on which gears to get should read.

4.10s will cause a some funny shifting in an auto and for optimum performance shold be addressed. 3.73s don't make the shifting as aparent.

I wish I had 4.30s now, 4.10s are for pansies
