removing sail panels?

does anyone know how big of a pain in the ass is it to remove the sail panels? also, how do they come off?

it's somewhat of a pain in the ass. it involves the removal of the interior trim around the rear quarter window. if you still want to try and tackle it, i could try to give you a step by step.

You've got to get the interior piece off thats behind the sail panel and I think the interior piece under it has to come loose to get it off. After that you need to take the window rubber off then theres some bolts/screws holding a channel in the upper door molding, once you get the channel out theres more bolts/screws holding the molding itsself on and one bolt behind the fender/ door hindge. Btw there are nuts on the studs that hold the sail panel on once the top interior piece is removed, then the sail panel and door molding come off and be careful they snap together and are real easy to break. Thats how its removed on an 96-98, should be the same tho I'd imagine.

lol i figured it would be...yea if you want, go for it. i dont exactly need it, but i was planning on getting the bullitt/mach 1 sail panels eventually, but if it was a pain in the ass to swap them out i wasnt gonna bother.

I've taken the interior apart before, its nowhere near as hard to do that than it is to get a mach/bullitt c pillar/glass for a decent price
