I've never seen this done before, but even if it could be, i would never do it!

My ride is similar (full bolt ons + 100 shot) and i'm about to buy a set of cams without changing the springs right now.

Bullet Racing Cams have a new series of custom grinds that don't require a spring change. I'm looking at buying a set of these.

+1 million SH is an over hyped hack. (just like Lidio)

Go with cushman motorsports cams. I think at most they are $550. And most importantly they are proven power.

Its not safe to regrind the stock stuff, just get some good billet ones.

Bullet Stage 2 NA would be the max you can fit with the stock intake valve clearance problem the PI head has, plus they are fine with the stock valve springs.

Just my .02, but I'd never do cams without doing a new set of springs. It doesn't make sense to me to have everything ripped apart and risk running your old valvesprings. Yea, I know it's money, but it's nice insurance. I don't care what the manufacturer says about being able to run the stock springs, I'd replace them.

I do agree for the most part, but if you run a mild cam without to much lift, stay in the stock rpm range, then there really isn't a big need for aftermarket springs. Now when you get into forced induction it becomes even more important with the same mild cams.

I do realize it's good insurance and won't hurt, but for someone who wants cams, but can't afford the big labor charge that is involved with the spring change, then there are a few good cams that fit the bill.

Stock PI beehives handle a lot more than people give them credit for.

Funny thing the Comp spring that so many people changed to back in the day (and still do today) has about the same specs as the stock PI. It was originally designed for the NPI head which installs the spring 0.1" shorter and its specs are rated as such. Its a waste of money in the PI head.
