Wink Dang Drvier Side Window

I dunno but I feel as though the people at my local auto glass place is trying to rip me off.
MY situation is that my driver side window will go down about 2 inches then it looks as tho its slanting down toward the rear of the car and getting stuck. I took the door panel off and it was off track , put it back and It rolled back up but fell back off track. I told them this at the shot and they told me it would be a 180 dollar repair. "It needs a new window and brackets" she says ( the office lady). Sound right guys? Any Ideas? thanks in advance.

I've seen this a few times at work. The glass has a flat track in the front of the door, and a roller in the rear part. If part of the regulator/track becomes damaged, it could cause the roller or slide to pop out. The glass is molded to the bracket and sliders.. so if it is indeed damaged then you will need to replace it.

I've seen bad seals cause the window to be mis-aligned. That will damage the reg, rollers, stops, etc.... Its a mess in there.

Good article, my only comment would be to use urethane adhesive (like this), rather than silicone.

Urethane adheres much better to non-porous materials (like glass and steel)...
