Default Help with pypes off road x pipe

People who have installed a pypes off road x pipe. Do you really need the "small sleeve for the drivers side leg" I did not receive on with my pipe, and on the pypes website it says that a lot of the time they forget to put it in the box and its not always required. I guess its a small sleeve that fits from the headers to the xpipe.

Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks!

if you're talking about the crush gasket, it only goes on the passengers side. i'm having a hard time sealing mine on the drivers side though so if I can't get it to allign correctly tomorrow I'll have to fabricate some kind of gasket to go in on the drivers side as well. good luck!

That insert is a reducer.

Your factory exhaust is 2-1/4" and the Pypes is 2-1/2".

If you don't install that reducer you're essentially bolting up a big pipe around a small collector. Thus, a leak will form.

Good luck.

I've had mine on for a couple of months now with no leaks.

I can tell you first hand it absolutely is needed. You will have a massive leak without it.
