exhaust problem?

ok so i had my exhaust setup installed the other day and since then i have gotten horrible gas milege while barely touching the gas. So far this tank ive gotten 83 miles to the first half tank. The other night when i was revving the exhaust for a friend he saw flames shoot out the tips. Is my car running rich or whats going on here?

I went lookin at the exhaust today and noticed that the mufflers are just welded on to the stock catback system that i have. I thought the muffler openings were a bigger size than the stock catback piping am i wrong?

****ty welding. i coulda done better with the shielding gas turned off.

you should actually get better gas mileage with a new exhaust system. if you want really good mileage get a high flow x or h pipe

Are the muffler outlets a bigger size than the stock catback outlets?

RE: exhaust problem?

i dont know. but if you were showing us the outlets the exhaust pipe should have went over the muffler pipe. that way there isnt as much restriction.

RE: exhaust problem?

the closest piping in view there is the x-pipe/muffler weld. The catback piping does go over the muffler but none of the welds look like they fit well at all. I dont know if its just a shotty job of welding or that they dont fit and the welder tried to make them.
