I fail to see the point in throwing away a K&N filter. It takes all of 10 minutes to clean them, and the $20 kit to clean it can be reused quite a few times. Not to mention that K&N recommends that you clean them every 30,000 miles.
Throwing them away is just stupid.

10 minutes to clean? What do you consider cleaning?
Spraying the releasing agent on the filter alone takes 10 minutes for that stuff to emulsify the oil. Hose it off, let it dry for a while then re-oil it, you're looking at a couple of hours there.

How often do you guys clean the filters? They are a huge pain in the *** to get out, so I was wondering what you guys would recommend? I've gone about 25k miles w/out cleaning.
