Default Trouble with low revs

These past couple of weeks have been getting pretty hot and my car doesn't seem to be taking to it very well.

The other day I was in heavy taffic for about an hour, it was really hot and I had the AC on. I was at a full stop and the car was idling really rough and then it stalled. I started her up and turned off the AC. The car still idled a little rough but it kept running.

A few days later I was driving around, I got lazy and took off in second gear from complete stop and it struggled to take off until about 2000rpm, after 2K it jerked me forward real hard and all the power was back. So under 2K it feels like I'm driving a 4 banger towing something really heavy but over that my car feels as powerfull was always.

Is this a sign that I need new plugs and or coilpacks? Could it be anything else?

It might be your battery taking a poo on you.

Well, I would doubt you have a misfire since there is no code being thrown. It maybe your alternator starting to go. If a diode goes bad in it you will start to get some different symptoms. If it is the alternator and it does go bad, it will kill you battery in less than a half hour, so I would get that checked out. You can either just take it to a shop, or take the alternator off and have Auto Zone check it, but be warned, they can be retarded and not even know what they are doing. We had a post in this not to long ago where I stated I had to show them retards how to hook it up to their machine, sad. Anyway, that would be my guess. Also, when was the last tune up for it?

My last tune up was a pretty long time ago. I guess I'll check out the alternator first and see what comes up.
