Default Summit shifter

Is anyone running this shifter in a New Edge? Thoughts and/or opinions welcomed on this product. I'm thinking of picking one up for my car.

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-700007/

My car is bone stock + Flowmaster weld in mufflers. It's my wife's daily driver, but we'll be getting her something else next year and the Mustang will become a toy. Between now and then, I plan to do full exhaust, sub-frames, and gears. Once she gets another DD I'll install the s/c.

It seems, from reasearch on this site, that this is the recommended plan of attack to produce a quick, streetable car, without wasting money.

Any suggestions for adjustments to my plan are also welcome

Thanks

for 150$ there's prolly better out there...
MGW is 179.00 (mwgltd.com)
pro 5.0 is 169.00 (americanmuscle.com)
steeda tri-ax is 179.95 (americanmuscle.com)

these are the 3 main ones i've seen that people use and love. never heard about the summit one. 20-30$ to me is worth it for a brand i know and trust. AM.com also has free shipping...

i have the cheaper one without the adjustable tension screw and im happy with it. shifting wasnt really all that smooth when it was new but it has smoothed out nicely

it was $109 i think..

I went with an mgw... I had some random piece that was just a litte to sloppy. I tried out my friends MGW that was broken in and fell in love.

You really can appreciate the craftsman ship that goes into their piece as compaired to the stock and random units i had around.

That isnt to say that other companies dont have the same precision but this is my opinion.

The Summit one can be had on ebay for well under $100.....that's why I asked. If I was paying full price, I'd just get a Pro5.0

Thanks! It's my wife's DD for now, But I like tinkering with it here and there, getting it ready for its transformation next year. Got a smokin' deal on it too!
