First check the coils with an inductive timing light. Just put the clamp on the coil wires and it will light when the coil fires, find a miss and change the coil with one from the local yard.
The EGR works off of vacuum. Get a vacuum pump and check it put and see if the diaphram is going bad. A local pick-n-pull will sell these parts CHEAP!

I'm having a similar problem. I will be under the hood tommorow changing plugs and wires and cleaning my egr valve and i'll repost. I hope that will fix it. I've already been to 2 shops and one made me buy 2 sets of coils and the other put in a crackshaft position sensor and it still hasnt fixed anything. Also I have no codes so they told me to just start trying stuff. It stumbles under hard accel. and crusing on light load it shutters and randomly misses. Its still driveable but it has those split second misses. Sometimes they are just a second apart other times it goes a minute or so in between.
