SEAT BELT LIGHT AND CHIME

I Have a 2002 Mustang GT Convertible and everything was fine until yesterday. I was cleaning my car up and once i left, the seatbelt light refused to go off...

The chiming is just terrible...Is there anyway to disconnect it so it won't keep on chirping...I have my seatbelt buckled but i think it has a shortage somewhere... Please help.

i cut the wire that attaches to the drivers buckle and its gone now

Yeah i saw that on there...I was wondering if it was the wire that powers my power seats or if it was just for that purpose....I think i might just try that if it wont affect my power seats....Do you have power seats in your 02...
