Default my new motor problems!!

ok so i got a 4.6 for gayleen. and after getting it all put in and firing it up there is a weird knock in the top end. i dont know what it is?? it sounds like its comming from the second and third clynder on the drivers side??

and the car is in fail safe mode and will rap out slow and the check engine light is on. the motor ran fine before. the oil psi is good the car did not get hot

would a bad injector make a knocking sound?
i am out of idea's

There's a natural tick from the injectors already, but it's fairly faint. This sounds like it's a little more though.

What setup are you running?

And if a tune is necessary, have you had it tuned?

right now the oil is 10/30
how many quarts does it usally take. because i have like 8or9 quarts in there and it just started to show on the dip stick?

right now the car is na with a stock ecm and just a bbk intake and 30pound injectors. yesterday i was running it and unplugged the maf and i thought it was going to die but it kept going. so i replaced the maf and now it works
i think i am going to pull the cover and see if the timing is on and see why the check engine light is on?

should i change the oil and put a thinner weight and some lucus in there?? it runs good and when you rap it out it sounds tought
good oil psi and it does not smoke or get hot?

8 or 9 quarts that is way to much that can kill a motor 2v should be no more than 5 my cobra is 6 i would go get that drained out asap ur dipstick could be bent or something like that

Is it tuned for the injectors??? And run 5w20...6qts... Stop beating on it too, your just causing more issues. Aside from that make sure all ur connections are good, I don't think they are

i got all but one trouble code figured out. the p1445
the car seems to run better but it still sounds like a lifter is not primed. is there a way to prime it? what ever sound it is its comming form the topend not the bottom.

Did you change the oil yet? That too much oil . Maybe someone with the same year motor as your can tell you how long the dip stick should be. I use 10w40. Some will say dont use the 10w40 and say 5w20. But that work best for me.
