I have been thinking about getting gears. Then i also was thinking about getting a chip.. What would you suggest doing first? Im really looking to gain more torque than anything and with gears i think i will achieve that, more than a chip. What are your opinions on this.

You should get both.. if you get the gears first your speedo will be out of whack. Get the programmer first, then get the gears. Otherwise you will be racking up miles on your car. You could get a Speedcal to take care of the problem but just get the programmer.

yea i would suggest a programmer first. I have the hyptertech III and its good. It asks you if you have like bigger tires, new gears all this stuff. Basically all a chip does is when you floor it the tells the injectors to open and shove all the fuel possible into your engine creating a bigger combustion thus making you go faster. I'm not 100% sure on if that is correct of what the chip actually does but thats what ive heard. Your gas mileage will blow with a chip but throttle response is a lot better.

gears if you want power that you'll feel. be nice to have both so you can re-program your car for the gears, or you can just get a speedcal for it. oh, and don't bother with 3.90, just go all out for the 4.10s!

I went and got the programmer first. Waiting for Santa Claus (i mean the UPS man) to show up and deliver it any minute. And there he is. Got the predator from Fox Performance for 299 instead of 399 like everywhere else. Will be sending off for the gears towards then end of this month. 4.10's, here I come.

Yea basically gears just help with acceleration. If you take it to the dyno you will still have same HP as before you'll just have quicker acceleration. If you chip it you can feel HP and if you dyno that then you will have more hp and tq. Chip will improve throttle response though so you can feel both of them. Both will lower quarter mile

most chips will advance the timing of the engine to create a leaner mixture.
