would a 2001 Mustang GT MAF sensor work on a 2000?????

Probably so because the 2000's and 2001's both have 19 lb injectors and the air temp is located on the plenum side of the MAF, not incorporated like the 2002+ models. 2002+ models have a different air temp sensor and have 21lb injectors.
