Default restore oxidised paint?

No matter how much i wax my car or what kind of wax I use the passenger front fender and trunk lid will not come back. Is there any way to fix it or do I just need to buckle down and get a new paint job?

You need to use a clay bar, polish and cleaner wax first.

^^^^+11111 You are going to have to work for that paint to come back to life. Hope you have a power polisher. Otherwise muscle failure for you my friend.

I think I may end up dead if I do mine by hand.

ive tried clay bar and cleaner wax, but i dont have a power buffer. Might be worth investing in though.

it is worth investing, makes polishing a whole lot easier and you'll get much better results. Don't get the cheap ones from the stores, a good starter is the porter cable 7424, and you'll need the appropriate backing plate and pads.

I know this may sound stupid, but have you tried Nu Finish?

A couple of my buddies used it on their faded paint and it worked pretty d@mn good.

I can;t find the post right now, but if you get a porter cable make sure you get different pads. They aren't made for polishing cars. Make sure you get different pads for what you need.

If the power buffer doesn't work it is possible to just have it wet sanded and a new clear coat applied. That a lot less expensive than a totally new paint job.

have you tried polishing compound or if its really bad rubbing compound? That will cut into imperfections in the clear coat of make them less noticeable or disappear. Although from the picture a porter cable or equivalent with a good polish should brighten it up some.
