Default Antenna problem revisited (with pictures)

O.K., so I am trying to replace a motorized antenna that looks like this and makes a terrible noise every time the radio is powered on:

I want to completely take the motor out, and replace it with a stock wire and a shorty antenna.

To do that, I ordered this kit:

I should have known something was up when I had to order the screws separately. Turns out this was not all that is needed to replace a stock antenna. The main problem is that there is no where to screw in the actual antenna:

So I figured the people that put together the kit assumed that anyone wanting to replace the stock antenna wire and antenna would already have the pieces to make it screw together (even though they didn't assume I would have a bezel). I looked at the car to see what I did have, and this was it:

In case you are wondering, no I can't screw the antenna into this:

Here is the spacer, and it has no way for me to screw the antenna in either:

If going to a local junkyard is not an option, because I am overseas (Japan) and have to order everything for this car, where would I get the missing part(s)?

What would you do?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Ok, you are going to want to kick yourself in the *** for this one...

This picture...

The tab you see thats stuck in the base with the flat part on the end (the piece where you say you cant screw the actual antenna into) Is removable.

Take pliers and grab that tab stuck into the base and twist it out. Its just a threaded shorty that is used to protect the threads on the base during assembly/delivery. You shouldnt have any problems swapping this now. And you can thank me for the saved headaches at any time...

Well, I'm done kicking myself in the ***...check out the before and after shot below:

Getting that fender off (to remove the motor and hook up the antenna wire) was a pain in the neck!! Everything else was pretty easy.

It's great! Turn heads and get compliments everywhere I go!

Speed limits are a lot lower here and there's no real chance to open her up around where I live so I haven't really seen what she can do yet.

I end up ordering parts on line for anything I want to do to it because they aren't readily available here.

Oh, get this, Mustangs aren't considered sports cars in Japan...which saved me a lot of money on insurance!

No there wasn't near enough room. Believe me, I looked at that several times.
