Default Cracked intake manifold

I have a 97 GT and a couple of days ago I noticed a bit of steam coming from the hood yet the temp was fine. I popped the hood and it was all wet with antifreeze and water. My car started to run like Sh*t and I got a cylinder 7 misfiring engine code. I was checking my car today and when I use the TB to rev the engine antifreeze is coming from a crack on the intake manifold on the front passenger side and it is near the head. I remember something about a recall. What should I do?

well rather than purchasing a new intake I wanted to see about the warranty thing. But if I'm not applicable then I might as well just do it. I really want to drop a cobra engine in

There is another thread about the plastic intake recall. I am checking into it and will report hopefully tomorrow from Ford.

I know in 96' There was a recall on the intake. Call your local ford dealer, transfer to service. Tell them that you would like to know if there are any recalls on your vehicle, then give them your VIN when they ask for it. They will be able to tell you if you have any recalls within a few moments.

Good Luck.

I talked to Ford today. On my car there is a parking break SWITCH recall which they told me that I could set up an appointment to get fixed. As far as the intake they didn't have one on it. They said that if I did have a recall on my car they would replace it with another plastic one w/ brass fittings that is very similar. It wasn't on my car.

Neotokyo is right. I gave them my VIN and they looked it up for me in a matter of moments. I may call the other dealership in my town just to be sure of everything.

I thought they only did recalls for a certain period of time.

Go with the cobra motor idea that you had. I just dropped a 97 Cobra motor in my 96 GT and what a difference.
