check your maf and cop's or coilpacks depending on what you have. a buddy of mine had the same problem and his intake manifold was cracked and leaking coolant into one of the spark plugs areas causing it. (also caused it to f up something coil or plug or something around there)

Your car has coil packs on it, it takes alot for them to go bad but they do sometimes. Also check your plug wires for cracks or frays. I would also start the car in a dark spot and see if there is any spark coming from the wires. If so replace them with the MSD or FMS wires the Bosch and Accel wires suck @$$ and the accel like to jump spark from wire to wire. Not a big prob with the 4.6L but it was on the 5.0L.

I would start with plugs and wires--how old are they, what sort of plugs?

the plugs and wires are fairly new. Like within a year. Its not doing it anymore. I might pull the plugs and check the gaps though.
