Default Tapping pin? 03 GT

I am hearing a slight tap sound from the block, it sounds like its a pin said the Ford tech.

usually here the tapp exactly on startup shell, turn the key, crank, growl growl growl and than like it seems right after ill here the tap on the last valve start or however it technically works. than she idles. the start up is completely normal but i hear that tap towards the end. then usually around 2k~ rpms a slight tap tap tap on rev only im almost sure.

whats going on with this car, i barely drive it. When I do I barely get on her.

Does it do it right at start up

And when cruising at a constant speed? But goes away when accelerating and on decel?

Notice any loss of power?

check and see if any plugs are loose, anytime I have a *tapping* sound this is the first thing I check.

I live in a pretty big city, youd think the ford dealers would be somewhat knowledgable on these cars but they really are not.

why/how.. and what does this matter to be a tapping pin, i dont know. these guys always come up with different stories @ every ford dealership here in nv.

now thanks for the input the sparkplugs are about 2-3 yrs old this could be a fix.. well see.

also yeah man i am having a weird power loss issue,

refer to this for more info

thx guys

yeah right at startup how i explained, when the car you know gives itself like 1700 rpms or whatever-- than drops back down to 1000 or whayever.

it does it on nuetral when reving at the rpm (which why i thought it was a loose cat cover)

and in gear anytime im cruising around 1700 2000~rpm

this ridiculous tapping just started. ive driven maybe 200 mi on it, im pissed.

if your telling me my block is going, this car is going haaha.

i would have my 6 year 60k mi warranty with ford but its been 6 years, if my short block goes now on a completely stock block than damn, im going to make sure ford gets a nice letter and then ill see what to do with this bucket. ill start officially calling it a bucket, because to me its worthless.

last thing id ever think or find myself saying about this car.. kind of sad and mad at the same time lol..

so weird.

let me know send me whatever. thanks much..

and yeah its only on accel, never hear it just cruising or on deaccell, unless its at 1700-2000 rpms thats the only time. dont know why, but eh.

i have had people tell me its a throwout bearing on my clutch?

and a bad cat.. oh and then a good friend said a pin tapping, might need some new valve seals or something, some crazy **** that takes like 8 hours to do, and costs about 600 bucks. to me thats ridicule.

im just stumped. the dude at ford says pin? whats a pin? he wouldnt tell me more
they are rip offs. pin = piston?
