96 Cobra starting issue after gauge install??
So, I installed two gauges (water temperature & oil pressure) both electrical. I replaced the stock temp sensor with the aftermarket unit (Summit). I left the stock oil pressure sender alone, and installed the new one in place of a plug near the oil filter, both pictured here:
Now my issue is that the car doesn't always want to start. A few times it started fine, but now it turns over no problem, but wont start. I read somewhere online that cranking the engine while the gas pedal is to the floor will shut off the injectors during cranking. I tried this, and the car starts every time!!!?
The check engine light is on, but my boss took his scanner home. Does anyone have ANY idea what the issue could be? I feel as if I may be overlooking something simple. It's really confusing that it happened RIGHT after installing the gauges.
As far as the gauges go, they work fine, but only while the engine is under load. At idle, and while braking, they seem to lose some electrical power. I powered them off the clocks harness (clock isn't there anymore). Maybe I have to find a new source.
Thanks so much in advance.
